Youth Hockey

Skaters of all skill levels and disciplines

As the only NHL regulation-sized rink available to the public, Chaparral Ice functions as the rink-of-choice for a variety of athletic groups. Its most high-profile residents are the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars professional team, NA3HL Austin Ice Bats, the University of Texas club team, and The Texas State University Club Team. Chaparral Ice also hosts a variety of amateur teams, including our Austin Metro Hockey League teams from 5-year-old “6U” up to adult Chaparral Ice recreational leagues.


Youth Development League

14 total practice ice slots. Each week we work on skills and team concepts. This Development League is open to all ages and for players who are looking to improve their game!

Hockey Stick & Puck

Stick & Puck is an open “gym-type” session where skaters can work on individual skating and stick-handling skills. All ages welcome. Full equipment is required for all minors and recommended adults (hockey helmet, hockey stick, hockey skates, and hockey gloves required. all equipment provided by the player).


Cost: $13.00

Discounts are only available through pass packages and memberships. Space is limited. Please register in advance to secure your spot on any session.

High School Hockey Offerings

Calling all high school hockey players!
Register today for the Central Texas High-School Hockey Non-Check League starting in September 2021.

When: September 2021 – April 2022

Cost: $775 with flexible Payment Plans Available


  • 16+ hours of practice time
  • 16 regular non-checking season games
  • At least one playoff game
  • Practices will be mixed of shared and full ice
  • Games will be 75-minutes with officials and scorekeeper.

The Girls Hockey Club of Austin is a non-profit registered 501c3 organization founded to support the growth of girls hockey in Austin, TX. Follow us on IG @GHCAustin and tag us in your photos!



To empower physically or developmental challenged individuals by providing the opportunity to enjoy the sport of ice hockey.
Program benefits include improved endurance, coordination, strength, social skills, teamwork, and the pure enjoyment and freedom provided by skating on ice.



Starting in the 2021-2022 season, we’re pleased to announce that the Austin Ice Bats will be the newest expansion team in the NA3HL. The team has hired Phil Oberlin as the Head Coach and will have the #1 pick in the NA3HL Draft on April 28th.
