We are a family-owned business that seeks to share our passion for ice-skating with the Austin community. Our mission is to promote ice-skating by offering a fun, safe, and service-oriented destination for skaters of all levels.

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR APRIL SNOWPLOW CLASSES; LATE REGISTRATION STILL AVAILABLE FOR MARCH CLASSES FOR AGES 6-UP

Chaparral Ice offers year-round Learn to Skate classes for ages 3 and up! Registration is now open for our April session for Snowplow 1-2-3 (ages 3-5).  Online and in-person registration is available for April Snowplow classes.  Late registration is still available for our March session for Basic 1-8, Freeskate 1-6, and Adult 1-6. YOUTH SPRING HOCKEY IS HERE

Spring youth hockey programs start the week of March 24. Click HERE to get details on Mini Mite, Mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and Midget programs.  We listened to what you wanted, and are offering the Full-ice, heads up, body awareness training to give your child the confidence they need to play smart, confident hockey.

Camp de Champs returns for Spring Break, March 16-20, for a full week of on-ice and off-ice fun, and twice-daily skating classes!  Click here for more information.

Can't stay with us all day, but want to get in some extra skating while your out of school? Join us for Blizzard Blitz classes Mon.-Fri. mornings during Spring Break! Classes include one 30-minute lesson each day, free skate rental, and free all-day public skating. Click here for Blizzard Blitz class information. (Our morning Blitz classes will include a special "mini-camp" for skaters in Freeskate 1-6!)


SAFETY FIRST! HELMETS REQUIRED FOR BEGINNER CLASSES

All skaters in our Beginner Learn to Skate classes must wear a helmet during class, provided by the parent/skater. Beginner classes are Snowplow 1-2-3, Basic 1-2, and Adult 1-2.


DEFENDING THE BLUE LINE GRANTS TO YOUTH HOCKEY PLAYERS

DEFENDING THE BLUE LINE is a grant designed to help military families pay for their child's youth hockey fees or equipment.   Please email jess@defendingtheblueline.org if you are interested in applying.


ONLINE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

To enroll in a class or league online, click the "Enroll Online Now" link under Quick Links.  Then click on Program Registration, then the type of enrollment you would like to do ( i.e., Learn to Skate or Hockey Classes), then "click here to register".  Available courses will be shown, but are not necessarily in alpha-numeric order. Please view the full list for the course of your choice.  Then click on the arrows next to your choice for a drop-down menu to select the session you would like to take. If you are eligible for additional discounts, they will be applied by Chaparral Ice when the order is processed and will not appear on your emailed order confirmation, but will be reflected on your credit card statement.


CHECK OUT OUR FREE "TRY ME" CLASSES

Not sure if classes are right for you? Try our FREE Learn to Skate class on Saturdays!  Register by 11:45 a.m. for our 12:00 noon class. Skate rental is included. Class size is limited, so arrive EARLY to sign up with the cashier! (Skaters who wish to remain on public session after the free class must purchase public session admission/skate rental.) For ages 6 and up who have never had skating lessons. $10 private lesson available for those under 6 yrs. (The Saturday Free Class is for individuals only and is not available for groups. For information on group event class opportunities, please contact mindy@chaparralice.com.)

CUSTOMER DISCOUNTS FOR REFERRAL PROGRAM

USA Hockey 2 x 2 Challenge.  If your child is a youth player and you recruit his friends to start playing hockey you can get $100 off your child's fees.  That's a big chunk of change.  Email Angie Vaught at  avaught@chaparralice.com for more details.

PROSHOP CLOSES AT 6:00 PM MARCH 27TH

 The proshop will have limited hours on Friday, March 27th.  We will be open from 12pm-6:00 pm. We will resume regular business hours on Saturday, March 28th. 


WINNER'S CIRCLE BASIC SKILLS COMPETITION, APRIL 11

The Winner's Circle Basic Skills Competition is Chaparral's annual in-house USFSA competition and will be held this year on Saturday, April 11. Skaters of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Events are offered for all levels from Snowplow 1 and up. All skaters will receive an award -- medals for 1st through 3rd places, and ribbons for 4th and above. Skaters will learn a program and perform alone on the ice for family, friends, and judges!  Entry deadline is Saturday, March 21.  Click here for full information or contact Skating Director Kathy Goeke at kathy@chaparralice.com.


AUSTIN FIGURE SKATING NIGHT WITH THE TEXAS STARS

Don't miss the 3rd Annual Austin Figure Skating Night with the Texas Stars on Saturday, March 28, at Cedar Park Center!  More than 50 skaters from Chaparral, Austin Figure Skating Club, and Stars of Austin Figure Skating Club will be featured in pregame and first intermission performances inspired by the music of "Frozen"! DALLAS STARS LITTLE ROOKIES PROGRAM COMES TO AUSTIN

The Dallas STARS Mike Modano Little Rookies program has come to Austin.  Want to get your child started in hockey but not sure if they want to participate?  Little Rookies is a COMPLETELY FREE PROGRAM where your child will be able to participate in four 30 min. lessons, in full gear (supplied by the program) for a month to see if they enjoy it.  For more information, contact Angie at avaught@chaparralice.com.


SUPPORT AUSTIN BLADES SLED HOCKEY

Get a cool T-shirt and support a great cause! Austin Blades Sled Hockey is raising money for their trip to Buffalo, NY, for the 2015 National Disabled USA Sled Hockey Festival. T-shirts are just $20 and can be purchased here. We wish the team the best of luck in Buffalo this year!


PRE-REGISTRATION FOR FREESTYLES, STICK AND PUCKS AND DROP INS

Due to the high volume of users, participants are requested to pre-register for freestyles, drop-ins and stick and pucks to secure their spot on the ice.  Call 512 252 8500 x 9 to pre-register.
